An Addressable Fire Alarm System is an advanced type of system where each device (detector, call point, module) has its own unique address. This allows the control panel to identify the exact location of a fire or fault, making troubleshooting and emergency response faster.
A Conventional Fire Alarm System, on the other hand, groups multiple devices into zones. When an alarm is triggered, the panel only shows which zone is affected, not the exact device.
Addressable System = Pinpoints the exact device location.
Conventional System = Identifies only the zone, not the specific device.
👉 Addressable systems are preferred for large or complex buildings, while conventional systems are more common in small buildings due to lower cost.
